Tax fraud is nothing new, unfortunately, but for sheer gall, it's hard to beat the case of Mark Goldberg, a Bronx-based preparer who recently pled guilty in Manhattan federal court to charges relating to a scheme to file fraudulent returns that claimed more than $7 million in false deductions. The plea was announced in a release from Preet Bharara, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York.
