Sens. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) and Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) introduced a bill that, if passed, would prevent companies that make food of "poor nutritional quality" from deducting marketing and advertising from their incometax, according to the Hill. The bill, put forth on Thursday, would allow the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services and the Institute of Medicine to determine what, exactly, constitutes such a food, said the Hill.
